AP Calculus BC

AP Calculus BC is a full-year course that covers all of the topics covered in AP Calculus AB plus approximately ten additional topics.

AP Chemistry

AP English - Language and Composition

AP World History: Modern

AP World History: Modern is a challenging course where students investigate significant events, individuals, developments, and processes from 1200 to the present. The course follows the curriculum outlined by the AP College Board for World History: Modern and, therefore, prepares students for the AP exam in May.

Art Foundations

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the ideas and processes that are basic to making and understanding art.

Art Portfolio

Students will develop a portfolio of works in aligned mediums that may include ceramics, photography, digital design, drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and mixed media.

Biomedical Innovations

In this capstone course, students apply their knowledge and skills to answer questions or solve problems related to the biomedical sciences. 

Books and Film

Books and Film is a course where students will investigate the relationships between novels and their tv or film adaptations to create a better understanding of their major differences. Students will analyze works of fiction, non-fiction, and drama. Students will then critically analyze the film versions through careful exploration of character development, performance, and dramatic structure.

Business Foundations

This is the first course for the Business and Administrative Services, Finance and Marketing career fields.

Canal Customs - Marketing

Students operate as specialized employees and leaders within the school’s print shop, applying their business and production skills in real-world scenarios. Participants create and manage ongoing marketing campaigns, manage Canal Customs’ social media accounts, develop and revise the overall customer experience, and communicate with Canal Customs’ customers and industry partners.

Students operate as specialized employees and leaders within the school’s print shop, applying their business and production skills in real-world scenarios. Participants manage ongoing orders, coordinate schedules, and ensure customer satisfaction. Students can earn Work-Based Learning (WBL) hours and complete a Project Management pre-apprenticeship that counts toward graduation requirements while building a professional portfolio.

CCNAv7: Introduction to Networking

The first course in the CCNA curriculum introduces the architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements that connect users, devices, applications and data through the Internet and across modern computer networks - including IP addressing and Ethernet fundamentals. 

CCP CSCC ENGL 1100 Composition 1

CCP English 1100 is a beginning composition course offered by Columbus State Community College which develops processes for critically reading, writing, and responding to a variety of texts in order to compose clear, concise, expository essays.

CCP CSCC ENGLISH 2367 Composition 2

English 2367 is an intermediate composition course offered by Columbus State Community College that extends and refines skills in expository and argumentative writing, critical reading, and critical thinking.

CCP CSCC PSY-1100 Intro to Psychology

Chorale

The Chorale is an auditioned choral ensemble open to any CWHS soprano and alto voice in grades 9-12. 

College Prep Math

This course does not grant college credit, but students who elect to attend CSCC are permitted to continue in their current course of study. 

Computer Science Principles

Students will learn the object-oriented programming language of Python through structured activities and open-ended projects that include making creative designs and creating visual games.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is the study of manufacturing planning, integration, and implementation of automation.

CP Algebra 2

This is a traditional Algebra II course that focuses on the topics of linear, absolute value, quadratic, rational, radical, and exponential functions and their related equations.

Introduction to Astronomy

Astronomy is a course that investigates the sky and the different objects found there. Topics covered include a history of Astronomy, including tools of an astronomer, cycles in the sky, stars and constellations, the Space Race and other examples of space travel, as well as current events in the sky. Students will also learn about the planets, galaxies, and other celestial bodies.

Jazz Ensemble

Jazz Ensemble is an advanced performance-based course that explores the history, style, and performance practices of jazz music. Students will study and perform a wide range of jazz literature including swing, blues, Latin, funk, and contemporary styles.

Online American Sign Language II

Building upon the foundational skills and cultural knowledge acquired in ASL 1, this course introduces more advanced elements of American Sign Language and Deaf culture

Online American Sign Language III

This advanced American Sign Language course is designed for students who have successfully completed ASL II or its equivalent and are ready to achieve an intermediate-to-advanced level of proficiency in both the language and the culture. The curriculum focuses on mastering complex linguistic features, including unique ASL grammar, advanced classifiers and locatives, and the accurate development of fluid verb tenses and syntax.

Print Shop Foundations

Students will explore the fundamentals of business operations, marketing, and design through hands-on experience in a student-run print shop. Students will also learn to operate print and production equipment safely and effectively. Students will leave with a solid understanding of business, marketing, and production basics and be prepared to choose their specialty by taking Canal Customs - Operations or Canal Customs - Marketing.

Concepts to be studied are learning, perception, memory, stress, personality theories, and abnormal behavior. Class activities include discussions, lectures, and experiments. It is a great introduction to a subject that is required for most college majors.

Sculpture

Students will have the opportunity to discover methods of creating sculpture using a variety of tools, techniques, and materials. 

Senior-Only Teaching Professions Program

This year-long pre-apprenticeship course is designed for seniors interested in exploring careers in education or related fields, such as school counseling, social work, or other professions that support students and schools. It is scheduled for two periods a day. Students will spend three days a week in the classroom learning foundational teaching concepts and skills and two days a week gaining hands-on experience in Canal Winchester classrooms.

Students will use the skills learned in Business Foundations and Fundamentals of Business and Administrative Services to create a real-life sole proprietorship business.

Student Technology Support

This is a foundational course in the Technology Support pathway. This 18-week program uniquely blends preparation for the CompTIA Tech+ (FC0-U71) certification with hands-on experiences repairing and managing district Chromebooks. You'll develop core IT troubleshooting, networking, OS recovery, customer support and management, and service management frameworks, while also exploring crucial modern topics like cybersecurity and AI.

Symphonic Choir

The Symphonic Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble open to any CWHS student in grades 9-12. Students will grow in musicality and understanding of the choral experience.

Team Sports

This class is tailored for students eager to engage in team sports and comfortable competing with peers. 

Technology Internship/Pre-Apprenticeship

The Technology Pre-Apprenticeship provides students with hands-on experience supporting educational technology in the District Chrome Depot and classrooms. Students assess technology issues, determine appropriate solutions, and assist staff and students with day-to-day technology needs. Participants also complete ongoing projects related to device repair and educational technology integration.

U.S. Studies - 1877 to the present

This course covers the development of the United States from the time of Reconstruction, through Industrialization, Imperialism, Foreign Involvement, World War I, the Twenties, the Depression, the New Deal, World War II, the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, the Civil Rights era, and concludes with a study of the U.S. as a present day power.

World Studies - 1750 to present
